Frequently Asked Questions

Considering a personal color analysis in Kansas City?

Our Frequently Asked Questions cover everything you need to know before booking, from how the process works to what to expect on appointment day. Whether you are in Kansas City, Lenexa, Lee’s Summit, the Northland, Overland Park, Leawood or anywhere in the KC metro, these answers will help you understand how personal color analysis can transform your wardrobe, simplify shopping and boost your confidence.

  • Simply stated, personal color analysis is the process of evaluating your natural coloring, including skin tone, hair, and eyes, to determine a harmonious palette of colors that enhance your appearance.

During your session, we’ll identify whether your best colors are warm, cool, warm-neutral, or cool-neutral, and whether they suit you better in soft, vivid, light, or dark values.

This information helps you confidently choose clothing, makeup, jewelry, and even nail polish that flatter you, saving time and money while elevating your personal style. At Radiant Color Studio, we use the True Color International Method.

  • Yes! Wearing colors that harmonize with your natural features can instantly improve your appearance and boost confidence.

With a personalized color palette, you’ll make smarter wardrobe and makeup choices, avoid costly mistakes, and build a cohesive personal style that works for every occasion — whether you’re in a boardroom, kids soccer game, classroom, on stage, or at home.

Personal Color Analysis (PCA) is an investment in yourself with long-lasting benefits, and we’re proud to offer this service to clients in Kansas City, Olathe, Lenexa, Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, Leawood, and across the KC metro.

  • Your consultation will last 90–120 minutes. You will also receive a pre-appointment email with details on how to prepare for the appointment properly.
    To ensure accurate results:

    • Wear something comfortable

    • Avoid makeup, concealer, or sunless/self-tanner

    • No sunburns or heavy sun exposure for at least a week before

    • Please skip the perfume or cologne sprays (it can transfer to the drapes)

    • If you wear glasses, bring clear contacts if possible (you’ll be asked to remove glasses during the analysis)

  • No problem! If your hair is colored or highlighted, we’ll use a neutral grey cap during the analysis to keep results accurate.atural gray hair is simply part of your coloring — no need to cover it.

Natural gray hair is no problem, it’s just that - natural. No need to cover your hair for the analysis.

  • YES! Friends, partners, or family members are welcome, just let us know ahead of time. Color analysis is perfect for special occasions like birthdays, graduations, or style makeovers.

For children under 10, we recommend booking them only if they’re receiving a service themselves. Nursing mothers and infants are welcome.

  • You might benefit from color analysis with TCI if you've previously been analyzed using another method — such as the classic 4-Season system, virtual tools, or app-based assessments — and still feel uncertain about your results or not quite yourself in the recommended colors.

The 12-Tone TCI Method offers a more nuanced approach, accounting for warm, cool, and neutral undertones to provide a tailored palette that truly reflects your unique coloring. If your previous analysis left you feeling “close but not quite,” experiencing the TCI Method might be the missing piece that brings everything into harmony.

Our Kansas City personal color analysis uses the 12-Tone TCI Method, which accounts for warm, cool, and neutral undertones — a more detailed and accurate approach for most people.
